D.A.V. Mahila College is situated at Katrasgarh, Ranibazar under Baghmara Block of Dhanbad District .

The College was established in 1973 with prime aim of catering the needs of higher education to the women belongings to SC, ST, Minorities and Other Backward section of the society. The College had a modest beginning as joint efferd by the social workers of Katrasgarh, the founder Teacher is Smt. Subrata Ganguly.

Originally it was affiliated to Ranchi University. At present it is a permanent affiliated unit of Vinoba Bhave University, Hazaribag.

D.A.V. Mahila College, Katrasgarh, Dhanbad is first women college in Baghmara Block and Baghmara Assembly under Vinoba Bhave University, Hazaribah.
